How do Virtual Meditation Sessions Work?

How do Virtual Meditation Sessions Work?

Putting you into a virtual world really allows you to think differently.

- Lisa Su

In these unprecedented times, it’s no surprise that organisational stress levels can reach new highs. None of us have been prepared for this, or could have foreseen the current situation. Therefore, a new form of wellbeing leadership is required; one where we make the best use of new tools at that are at our disposal.

Virtual meditation sessions have been instrumental for many of our clients in order to help their employees stay calm, collected and focused in challenging times.

Often, the advantage of virtual sessions is that they are easy to set up, and can be rolled out immediately. We do not have to spend time finding the best physical environment, and your employees can easily add the virtual sessions to their calendar, even if they are booked out immediately before and after, given there is no travel time needed to get to the session.

Setting up these sessions in your environment has never been easier, all that we need from you is:

  • Your preferred internal virtual platform (Google Hangouts, Zoom, Skype, GoToMeeting, etc…) and we will work to adapt to your preference.

  • The best times of week, and day, to run these sessions. Many of our clients run them three times weekly. In most cases, we’ve been keeping the sessions short (around 20 minutes), in order to easily fit them in your staff’s busy schedules, and to make them more easily accessible for those who are new to meditation, and still unaware of all the incredible impact it can have on one’s life. Research also supports the fact that 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation per day can be enough to have significant positive impact.

  • An internal coordinator to act as a wellbeing leader we can work with. This person’s role will be made easy by us providing them with all the resources they need (internal communication they can send out, guidance on the best ways to promote the program, and conversations about continuing to define success over the long-term in collaboration with them).

  • A workplace culture that puts the health and wellbeing of their staff first. This is critical and will allow high levels of participation and the best ROI on your investment.

In summary, with organisations making working from home and agile working arrangements the new norm, it’s likely that virtual sessions will continue to be more important over time. Virtual sessions (whether meditation, or wellbeing workshops) are a low cost way to put the health and wellbeing of your staff first.
